Regards.

I think I couldn't make clear.

1. Open -> New mail -> go to address-book -> mark some addresses in Bcc ->

In my mail client it is DONE click what ever you have in yours to go to new mail

2. Go in Bcc write-Area type in " " whereever in yours are Names you have

eg "Haaje how R U ... "

3. Repeat in as many as you need

Send

I hope it will work provided you start marking from your Address-book in Webmail like

GMail etc where after DONE addresses in To, Cc or Bcc are:

"Haaje" <haajee@avc.com>;

not in mail-clients where it is

[ Haajee; ABC; ]

In my local Mail-client it is like that.

thanks for sharing this hack.

I've raised this question to companies selling these eMail apps, and they think it's a cool idea, but so far, I haven't seen any implementation of this yet.

you can do this, but your recipient might not be looking where you want him to, and thus, miss your short message just the same. the eMail app should open a small window after you click on a button saying something like "send msg to BCC", where you can type in your message, and which will appear in the body of the main mail, where it won't be missed.

IMHO, it's a very useful tool, and I hope this'll become standard in eMail apps one day.

Dear Langyaw !

I have tried it in my different mail clients & found working OK.

The reason is:

The recipient receive the full Nsme you specify in your Address-book [or while sending the mail you type in] in his mail's To:

To: Haajee-R-U-OK ....

You try to send yourself a test message addressing yourself even in the same server; if you have no other mail server.

Any more comments please !

Regards.

Hi Haajee,

I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird. I tried sending an eMail with myself in the BCC, but Tbird replaces what text I used in "some text" <myemailadd@myemailserver.com> with my own name which is in my contacts list. so I can't read the "some text" at all.

what eMail clients have you tested this on? did the contacts list not kick in and remove your text?

comsats.net.pk

The images I posted in previous post are from this ISP

I will try GMail & Windows Live how they behave?

I see. so your hack works only with web-based eMail, not machine-based eMail clients such as Eudora, Outlook, Pegasus, etc.

Regards.

Yes. I tried with a number of web-based eMail & machine-based eMail clients like Incredimail & worked only with Web-based.

Thanks.

I think that the subject is closed now.
