EN8 Steel - Turning and Face Milling

Please tell me what will be suggested speed and feeds for Turning and face milling opeartions with respect to HSS tools and carbide tools?

Recommended speeds and feeds in SI units

That depends on the Material your turning, the depth of your cut, the finish your trying to obtain, wether or not your using coolant and the type of cutter your using. There are books avalible to give you a place to start. But there is a "feel" to it as well.

Hi There are a basic guide for machining by calculation please refer to this website: http://its.foxvalleytech.com/MachShop3/SpeedCalc/SpeedRPM.htm

and :

Basic :

HSS is High Speed Steel.........Normal cutting Tool for machining.

Carbide Tool ..... is Harder and can cut faster then HSS Tool.
