Would anyone happen to know what the difference is between the gmc sierra sle1 and the sle2?

Probably a difference in options package, most of the sle2's I just looked at on eBay had Running Boards... There were variances in the Upholstery, and Engine among the sle2's listed.

Both Models indicate 2500 series 4X4.

Best bet, choose the one with the options You want, and ignore the letter's/#'s.

Sorry I wasn't helpful, but if You are talking to Parts Guys they should be able to find the information they want by asking You for Your VIN #.

I had a similar problem with one of My cars not too long ago, it was a 1992, but because of changes made in April of 92 they needed My VIN to determine whether mine was made before, or after the change.

The production date on the Door Panel said it was made in "04/92" if it had said any other Month, I wouldn't have had to give them the 17 digit VIN...

When I saw Your question I thought You were shopping for a Truck, that is why I did a quick search on eBay concentrating on the differences I found, I can say there are over a dozen sellers with current listings, and most are Dealerships, maybe You could ask one of them, or call Your local Dealer, with the VIN # in hand.

The Dealer can tell You every bit of information about Your Truck based on that 17 digit Alpha-Numeric Code. I still think it is going to be a minor detail, of the sle2's I looked at, some were Diesel, some Gas, Some had leather interior, some had cloth...

From Personal experience I would have to say the 5.3L Engine is a Nice Package, not too big, not too small, GM has been using the 5.3L Engine since 1999 it was first used in the Denalli Luxury SUV.

Thanks anyways. I think i found it out the difference through some research. The SLE1 has a maximum seating of 5 and the SLE2 has a maximum seating of 6. Thats the only difference I could find so far. I think i might still go to a dealership and see wha they say.
