03/30/2009 9:28 PM

my brother gave me a portable aircondition unit he bought in singapore. it's frequency is 50 hertz. Is it safe if i use it here in the philippines, because i know that the standard frequency here is 60 hertz? What will I do in order to use it safely here in the philippines?

caroldelgado ph; plug it it to the 240 volt outlet & enjoy the cooling, the motor is cooled by the freon, it may run (speed) a little faster, cool more. perry

Also check the rated voltage 60Hz @ 110V ? or 60Hz @240V ?

thanks! but i'm afraid that the motor will be damaged because of the difference in frequency or that it may cause an electrical short circuit.
