Thermal contact conuctance(TCC) measurement set up

04/12/2009 2:35 AM

Hi. I am into the mechanical design of electronic packages for space use. Presently we use empirical TCC values for thermal design purpose. I am planning to find out the exact TCC values for different variables like materials, surface finish, bolting conditions, different filler materials etc.,. Can anyone guide me how to create a TCC measurement setup?

Look at the thread about this item. I asked for data and in fact nobody answered. Sliderule and I did some attempts to get a theoretical orientative value.

You will get as well some indications for a rough approach for a test.

Depending on the accuracy you try to reach you must invest more or less in the setup.

If you need I can give you support on the condition to get some results to validate my hypothesis. For it send me via PM your mail and I shall send you detailed indications. I already thought about but did not have the possibility to make the tests.
