ABB VFD Problem

04/20/2009 12:29 AM

We are having a ABB make VFD - ACS800 for fan application. It was commissioned and working for last three months. Now it is not responding to DCS input (4-20ma) and increse/decrese 24 V DC input from VFD panel for any increse/decrease command. Any change made from these two destinations leads to bringing the speed to ZERO with current indication in the existing value. However it is responding to HMI Keypad operation. No specific display in HMI screen. Kindly give your clarification to the above Mail Address.

Regards,

Also, get on the phone to ABB's technical helpline to see what assistance may be found there.

hi rajant,

i think the DCS input(4-20 mA) is for speed reference to the ACS800 VFD.

1. check the mA input from DCS at the VFD terminal.

2. whether it is connected to AI1 /AI2 / AI3.

3. Check the parameter 11.03 (If ur connection is at AI2 terminal, this parameter should be AI2)

4. u can check the actual signal of AI2 in the VFD keypad at parameter 01.19

if u are getting the actual signal okay, but ur drive is not responding, u can change the DCS input(4-20 mA) to the terminal AI3. Accordingly u have to change the parameter 11.03 to AI3.

Good Luck..
