Er, so that they don't leak between the tubeplate and the tubes?

Er, so that the expanded tube and the tubeplate can be easily parted, to that the tubeplate doesn't need to be replaced as often as the tubes do, perhaps?

can you please clarify theoretically. is there any calculation how much to be the tube expanded.its my opinion that it may due to the differential thermal expansion.also it may provide easy for repairing the bank tubes if any leakage found.

Er, it needs to seal at the test pressure. An experienced boilersmith knows how much expansion to give a tube. Too little and it won't seal up. Too much and the tubeplate moves around, possibly unsealing adjacent tubes.
