Have a swimming pool 1.5 hp 220 vt motor that is wired in with timer and cutoff switch. ran for years without any problems. it now chooses to run backwards and causes the pump impellor to come off chewing up the pump shaft. not isolated incident but frequently occurs. can run forward for months and then all of a sudden it starts running backwards. replaced starter capacitor, motor, 2 pump impellors, pump seals, wiring, timer, switch all last summer. ran from July til start up in Feb and runs backwards again. Leslie Pools and I are totally baffled? any ideas. it is a hayward pump motor assembly?
