Big 3 bailout

04/21/2009 12:00 PM

While the U.S. is bailing out the big 3, the big 3 are investing in the newly emerging Chinese auto market. They are partnering with several Chinese auto makers who plan to introduce models into the U.S. soon. I wonder how much of the bailout money is going to China. Projected auto prices of Chinese cars, are very low and could cause even more problems here at home.

All of our money seems to go to China in one form or another.

China holds a huge portion of our debt. In fact, just the interest on our debt is something to the tune of $50,000,000.00 per hour! That wasn't a misprint.

Only GM has accepted the bailout. Chrysler declined and Ford never had its hat out to begin with.

GM has plants in China and those plants make a profit, as far as I know. So, parts or cars manufactured here never really go to China. I think it is domestic production that is killing GM.

I would suspect cars made in China will be sold in the U.S. under the big 3 names to take advantage of lower costs and fuel efficiency. This will mean more unemployment for Detroit. The car industry is going the way of all the other manufacturing firms, OFFSHORE. The big 3 will exist in name only, so why are we bailing them out?

It is a big vicious circle.

In 19xx workers in the automotive industry strike for higher wages and again in 19yy etc.

In the mean time Chinese workers were prepared to work for lower wages.

The production therefore shifted to China and nobody can blame them for anything except out of jealousy.

The same happened in other industries and other countries.

It is high time that the world realize what it is doing to itself.

Can it be stopped? I think so.

Can the situation be reversed? ??

For those of you who have Netflix, check out thier online documentary; 'Wal Mart, The High Cost of Low Prices'.

See if WallyWorld doesn't start selling cars soon.
