What's the Best Car to Live In?

04/27/2009 10:58 PM

During the last Depression in the US some took shotguns into the hills and lived off the land. Others relocated via cars, and had camps, some of which actually survive to this day.

What currently sold car is best to live out of?

Of older cars and equipment what combinations of generators, PV panels, and batteries would allow one to get by as all is turning out badly?

What pick-up jobs are there at the Truck Stops?

Is the Volkswagen Bus still the best vehicle to live in?

Since the SUV is so greedy for fuel, and really not designed for more than limo like transportation of the kids and the demanding wife, and old buses are not a really good option considering, is it time for GM to sell vans that the family can enjoy, as an alternative to homelessness?

If your that desperate then probably the one you currently own. Either that or a van of some sort (hey if your homeless you are not going to be that picky, especially if everyone else has the same problem).

From what I have seen GM selling what the market wants and needs sounds rather optimistic.

Dear Trans,

The vehicles below will work beautifully as a home and both are available new. However, if you can afford one of these you might as well buy a condo.
