Butterfly Position during Torquing

Dear all,

when we torquing the Wafer type butterfly valve in pipeline, what will be the position of butterfly.It will close, full open or 10% open.

When closed it will be 0% open, and when open it will be 0% closed. Or am I missing something?<Cough, wheeze>

The position of the disc and the position of the handle are intimately related, as they are connected to each other by the spindle.

Doesn't matter. That is if you mean while you are bolting up the flanges.

We were taught 10% open:

As the valve is faced up the orifice reduces at the center of the valve,so when it is put in full close position it has the maximum effective seal.
