Why ASME BPVC has give their own equation for finding the thickness of pressure vessel?

although LAME's theory is world wide used, then what are the technical reason behind it.? why they have made some changes ?

ASME does recognize Lame's equation, for example, see Appendix 1 of Sec. VIII Div.1

Also, though currently not explicitly printed in B31.3 (it was in older editions, c. 1982) Lame's equation may be used as per the current paragraph 300(c)(3) - and see Interpretation 1-57
