ER70S-6 would be a good candidate for this material. This can be shielded with either mixed gas (75% Argon / 25% CO2) or straight CO2 (allows your gun to run much cooler and gives better penetration). Availible in wire sizes .023, .030, .035, .045, and 1/16 that I know of, and maybe larger.

Essentially, extra silicon that "floats" inclusionary matter to the surface as a very thin, glassy slag.

In ER 70 S-6, the no- 6 stands for filler wire Chemistry . It says apart from carbon percentage of 0.15 max, Manganese will be between 1.40 - 1.85, Silica in bet. 0.80 - 1.15 This chemistry helps to provide a UTS of 500 min. N/mm2 Yield of 420 N/ mm2, elng. % of 22 apart from CVN impact values of 27 j at -29 0 C. These results are obtained at normal welding parameters and welded with DC Electrode Positive. The results may change if parameters are changed markedly. Sridhar
