P=1.732*V*I*power Factor

I=P/1.732*V*P.F

=1.1*1000/1.732*400*.95

=1.67A

So full load current will be 1.67A for three phase balance system

Nearly, but you also need to divide by efficiency. 1.1 kW is the motor shaft output power. And the PF you quote is optimistic. ABB catalogue gives, for 4-pole 1.1 kW, PF 0.81, eff 77.5%

Or, put another way,

  • 1.1kW/3Ø = 366W per phase.
  • Divide by the phase-to-neutral voltage.
  • Divide by the power factor.
  • "Robert is your mother's brother".

That means another way of saying "Bob is your uncle"

It is a common phrase in use.

Could mean that Robert is your Uncle. :)

Silly question - silly answer.

One minute

Sure it is not home work ?

Of course undefined parameters exist then can not be home work

Just thing such a high power all of 1.1KW on a 3 phase line the voltage may be 11KV at generator level of may be 440KV transmission or...

Unknown power factor, for all purposes may be running a motor on no load

answer : I don't know

Must we always respond to every question asked? Is it not obvious to us that this question does not have an answer. What is the basis for our answers? 1.1kw at what voltage and power factor?

Some times a lot of new train of thought emerge from these type of questions.

Just look at a prev post - HVDC transmission, in which along with one new fact- again to say, known fact but a new angla has emerged- that is the length of transmission line being multiple of the wave length of AC supply and the resultant effect.

So it is not the question of OP itself, when we branch out mostly on OT, new and often interesting facets are exposed. And that is the fun in CR4 (nobody censors going OT)
