  1. One tube light load=18 w
  2. 1.5 tone A/C =3000w or 3 kw
  3. one fridge = 1750 w
  4. one fan =150 w

Total load=18*10+3000*1+1750*1+7*150

=180+3000+1750+1050

=5980 or 6kw

Suppose your power factor = 0.93

So required KVA is =6/.93=6.5 and taking in consider effinciany 80% load will =6.5/.85 that is 8 kva load so 8KVA DG you required for it,kindly add future load if any

Hope it is a sample calculation as we normally consider 40 w for tube light & 15% extra for choke,60 watts for fan.If I am wrong it may be corrected.

A good baseline, considering so that so little data it supplied about the details of the load. Of course the actual loads could be very different. I have seen the 8ft tube lights that draw around 80W ea. And the estimation of the load imposed by the 1.5 ton AC is still just an estimation. The fridge, is it a small 6 cu ft unit or a walkin? The original poster really needs to get back to us with more info concerning the charachtaristics of his intended load.

Hi, what kind of wind turbines are you going to purchase?

We are a small-sized wind turbine manufacturer in China. We can offer wind turbines from 500W to 20KW, both isolated and grid tied. Our website:www.chinahummer.cn/eng

If you have any interest, pls. let me know. Thank you!

very simple

1 KVA= 1KW

as kva=kilo volt ampere its power unit used in electrical technology

Uh, in a word, no.

For resistive loads maybe, you could get away with that mistaken assumption. If you were specing a genny on that rule for any kind of inductive load, you are going to end up with too little capacity.

KVA and KW are loosly related and occasionally have the same value, but they are anything but the same.

Yeah, I tend to agree. It sounds like someone is trying to decide on a single phase set for home backup.
