AHU = Air Handling Unit. Mostly common in Air Conditioning application.

Basically a steam finned-tube radiator with a Blower. The steam enters from the top , the line tapped with a steam pressure reducing valve/ PRV(set very low between 1.0 bar-1.5 bar or as specified) & a temperature control automatic valve/TCV The bottom is drained by an automatic steam trap. The Blower blows and hot air is developed on the outlet which is then taken via a duct. The temperature sensor wherever installed open/closes the steam flow to the radiator( via the TCV )as per pre-determined set temperature on the controller. They come in various sizes/cfm and selected by the consultant/engineer on the model most suitable to him. The steam capacity then is determined by the size of the model/capacity AHU and selection made on sizing of the PRV & TCV + the Steam Trap. The equipments remains the same.
