I've been involved in RC airplanes since a youngster and a buddy of mine (aeronautical engineer) that also flies is doing something similar. I'll forward this to him.

Why don't you:

1. Tell us what you know now. Education? Experience?

2. Tell us your concept of this airplane.

3. Will you build, or design, as in CAD, or design and then build?

The more info you give, the better the answers will be. Or, at least more informed.

Good Luck

Great Assignment for the student of mechatronics. Is it for toy aeroplanes or passenger air crafts?.

lynlynch thank you for ur reply

i am a third year student i took courses in thermodynamics, statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics( without aerodymnamics),elec circuits, digital systems ,and feedback control systems and the next semester i will take a course in microcontrollers .

im thinking of designing a small airplane and i want to pilot this plane via a computer(remotely) also with this computer i can control the airplane like droping cargos and stuff like that.

i already began reading in aerodynamics and i need to know how to design and build the airplane i mean the structure of the airplane the rest i have as background.so where should i look ???

This is a great subject, but the industry is already well founded with several competitors. I suggest a visit to your local RC store, where they typically have a PC/RC station set up for customers to try this out. Its excellent. and yes, you can actually fly your rc plane via keyboard/mouse, or a plugged in handheld rc unit.

I think you should try this before starting.
