A thing of beauty

05/25/2009 1:36 PM

Spinning turbine blades of a C5 engine from a slight breeze.

Is that the Boeing, Lockheed or Chevrolet C5?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but C-4 always makes things more interesting to watch!

I didn't think #7 meant me. I also thought that most people here would know what kind of engine that has turbine blades. I know I was unclear at first, but I did answer Lockheed Galaxy C5.

I also thought you would know how to google too.

My post doesn't really have anything to do with the way they look.

Sorry I didn't realise your post was some sort of test.
It appears to be a statement rather than a question.
What exactly was your expectation of the statement?
You said you were surprised by the replies...you must understand that we do not all have psychic abilities...I bet you knew I was going to say that?

I shall try one of my own.

'Moving feathers of an Owl from a brisk wind'

What do you reckon?

The post was not a test. I didn't think I was being oblique.

I was merely commenting on the precision of the engine's parts for those huge blades to be moved by the slightest of breeze. I would expect an owl's feathers to move from a brisk wind. I didn't expect to see those blades move at all, but yet they were spinning.

iilc :

remote site:

if no other method avaialble, line 1st ac with exhaust pointing into the intake of an engine of 2nd a/c.. adjust power of 1st ac to induce engine rotation required to start eng on 2nd a/c..

our nickname for this was the the " buddy system " start..

Yeah, sort of like saying "There is an interesting book on airplane engines at the public library."

vrbarnett, are you saying I ought to read it?

When you title a post "A thing of beauty..." most of us would expect it has something to do withhow it looks, yet you say your post wasn't about that.

What was it about?

Curly Neal pass on the torch........

after playing in a b-ball league. If he was to walk on. he'd have to be carried off. Some people just do not like to be shown up by some shortstuff with talent like that.
