What is the intended flowrate? One cannot select a pump without knowing it!

in additional to flow rate for each sprinkler need to know sprinkler distribution and distance in between each two sprinklers , if it possible to attach simple drawing for 120 sprinkler arrangement in your garden.

Hello felixsemion,

If you are talking about an irrigation pipe to slowly water plants and or areas in your garden etc, you can buy 'off the shelf' units for different sized areas, or lengths of hose combined with the number of sprinklers you need. These also included a timer and switch to turn the sprinklers on for a given set amount of time.......say ten minutes at 19:00?

Can you tell me if you are talking of high pressure sprinklers as might be used on an 'industrial scale, or on a farm, or a domestic set-up please?

If each sprinkler head requires 1 GPM to produce an acceptable pattern, you will need a pump of 120 GPM plus additional capacity for pressure losses. If you divide the sprinklers into 2 zones, you will cut your pump capacity in half, and double your pump run time. If you divide the system into 4 zones, your pump will only need to be 1/4 of the original 120 GPM size. That means that all of your pipe is also 1/4 the size. Although you will need a zone valve, the reduction in pipe size and pump capacity will pay for the valve many times over. If carried to the extreme, you could have a small pump sized for only one sprinkler, and 120 zones.

If there is a section of the land being irrigated that is often occupied by people, it would by good to not make that the first zone to start. The water flowing in an adjacent zone will warn pedestrians that it will soon get wet. Good luck.
