what are the piping materials used in chill water a/c system?

What are the standards to be followed for piping and how we have to use this standards for our designing.?

A factory in Dagenham used mild steel flanged piping for all chilled water services for 50mm ø and above. The system has adequate chemical dosing so as prevent bacterial growth, corrosion and "kettle fur".

Below that diameter, screwed piping is probably more economic, depending upon local circumstances.

Chilled water pipes require thermal insulation and cladding to prevent loss of coolth between source and user, and the nuisance of dripping condensate.
