Electrical Heating

06/15/2009 5:04 AM

Dear All,

Iam about to choose a pump aggregates for H2SO4.

All the problems are solved but one:

As the H2SO4 can freeze in low temp...

Any of You have gone thru electrical heating of the pump casing?

Do You have any insights regarding the maximum heat transfer?

BR,

SAM

Add self-liniting trace heating tape and thick insulation over the top of it all. No problem.

Just don't forget not to heat and isolate the pump motor too... (hehehe). Now seriously, besides heating and isolating the pump, if with problems in wrapping the pump with tape-type heating element, you could also wrap some isolation over the pump and heat the pump inlet pipe. You could find some heating elements easily to install over the pipe.

Thanks for quick response!

I think it will be sufficient. Some sales engineer proposed heating with staeam (channels in casing) but i have decided to go with electric.

Again thanks!
