Looking for an Electrovalve

06/19/2009 9:07 AM

Hi,

I am looking for a DC water electrovalve to put in a normal water tap at home but I need it to be off/on. What I mean is a selenoid that will transition from off->on when a control pulse is applied and then stays on without any voltage applied. To turn it on->off again, another pulse need to be applied.

Does anyone know any suppliers of these type of selenoids ? I couldn't find anything.

Thanks/Brgds

João

A latching solenoid valve should suit you.

You need a latching solenoid water valve.

Typing ' latching solenoid water valve ' into a google search returned 17800 hits.

Many are low voltage/battery operated. Depending on where you are located, you should be able to find what you are looking for from a local plumbing supply distributor.

Then you just need to decide how you want to control the valve. Or, there are many manufacturers and distributors of faucet packages that already do what you want. Not cheap however.

Happy hunting.

Good morning, check with your local kitchen appliance repair store, a typical dishwasher has a normally closed electrically operated valve in the bottom. Don't know if AC or DC, hope this helps.
