Marine Valves and Material Selection

Working on a valve application for concentrated saltwater media. Seeking recommendations on construction materials (stainless, duplex, etc.).

it depends on the chloride conc, temperature, water threatment... as a geenral rule stainless steel (316) is ok up to approx 1000 ppm Cl-... above this value you should select an higher alloyed stainless steel , duplex ...
