like lynllynn, i am not sure what you are saying, i got that you got a code 742, is that stuck on....wtf is stock on? your job as the consumer is to communicate as much information, using who, what, when, where, and how, about your vehicles symptoms, to get the mechanic as close to the problem as possible, so you can get your vehicle back as soon as possible.

For example: ATV stops while driving-no other info avail.-my mechanics immediately head for electrical. 7hrs later, operator stops by and mentions they put on a gas cap gasket made of bicycle seat......it fell into the tank and blocked the whole.

If that is stuck on, it could be that the impeller, turbine, or stator, in any event, you cant do anything with them, other than replace the fluid or replace the torque converter. Thats a transverse motor, right? I would rather change the torque converter. Then again, it could be a broken wire in the wiring harness.

Google

cut and paste........

A P0742 is usually caused by a hydraulic or internal transmission concern.
The TCC release switch is a normally-closed switch and anything that can cause it to stick open will cause this code.
Inspect theTFP manual valve position switch.
Inspect the TCC release switch for the following conditions:
- A damaged or leaking seal

- Sediment or debris

- Damaged switch contacts

- Stuck switch contacts
or
TCC control valve stuck

- TCC feed limit valve stuck

- TCC regulator apply valve stuck

- TCC PWM solenoid valve stuck

- Pressure regulator valve stuck
