Old Massey Furguson Tractor - Converting to Diesel

I have an old Massey Furguson tractor four cylinder which is on petrol. Can I put say a diesel engine instead and what make should I look for

Welcome to the insanity.

It's your tractor, so you can do whatever you like with it. The first concern is weather the engine you plan on using will bolt up to the same location as the petrol engine.

I'd look for a MF forum/owners club/tractor collector, for advice. There are some really smart people here and maybe one of them knows of a good source of info. or a motor.

Had a Massey back on the farm in Arkansas. It was Massey Harris, I think. Now the Deere is king.

If you are handy with tools you could adapt something, but you might find a "bolt-up" somewhere.
