Fan or Blower?

07/14/2009 6:17 AM

Dear All,

I am looking for a vendor who can supply Fan/Blower for the following operating condition: -

Operating gas : - Ammonia

Suction pr./Temp. : - 1.033 kg/cm2 (a) / (-) 32.8 oC.

Discharge pr. / temp. : - 1.233 kg/cm2 (a) / (-) 30 oC.

Flow rate Normal / Rated : - 868 / 1042 m3/hr.

Approx. Fan power = 7.5 kw (calculated as per QH/102 Formula)

As, we have static pr. is approx. 2000 mm of water column, I think, Centrifugal blower can fulfill the required operating condition.

But, the problem is, almost all Fan/Blower vendors have regreted saying that operating parameters are not falling in their manufacturing range.

I discussed with my Process team but, they can not do any things better than what is specified above.

Can any one help me...

With regards,

Nilesh.

Is this fan for extracting the ammonia from a process, or it it intended to blow the ammonia in?

If it's going in, can the job be done another way, maybe by using bulk ammonia storage and letting it in using some sort of pressure-let-down valve?

Dear Mr. PW Slack,

Your question is corret. I forget to detailed it our in my last thread.

Ammonia vapor from Ammonia storage tank shall be compressed (via. referred Fan/Blower) and send to Mix with other equipment inlet stream.

With regards,

Nilesh.

PWSlack is a username and has no gender.

What is the temperature and pressure in the storage tank?

Nilesh

Utile Engineering make a range of fans and blowers. Links attached. 2-stage for 200mbar pressure rise. Looks as if one of those will do your duty. Due to the difference in density ammonia vs air, equivalent pressure rise on air is about 340mbar.

BTW, what does the (a) after your 1.033 kg/cm2 mean? Not absolute, from the context.

Cheers.......Codey
