Protection against Lightning .......

Hey...iam new to my industry...i would like to know how exposed pipelines containing hydrocarbons in process industries are protected against lightning strikes......?

First, we don't know how is your hydrocarbons pipe layout and we don't have the idea how is your plant layout. But generally, you can install few of the lighting rod at the top of your plant or your pipe structure and earthed it to the earth with copper tape.

Eventually, lighting will strike the highest point of any structure and if it hit your lighting rod it will delivery the potential to the earth thru the copper strips.
