Power Saving Alteration in Suction System

Our Main Objective is to save power right now we are using two Motor of 15 Kwatt which is consuming 18 ~ 20 Amps in Suction process for 120 Spindles in one machine. If we used 3 Kwatt Motor for 24 spindles means used 5 Motors in a machine for suction process. 5 * 3 = 15 Kwatt for 120 spindles can it be better or if we used one Motor of 30 Kwatt over the machine and added 24 spindles in the machine means 30 Kwatt Motor over 144 Spindles Machine that would be better for Power saving Prospects.

Are all the spindles running simultaneously ?

Anyway I don't find any significant savings.

More motors= more cost (1x15KW motor cost << 3x5KW motors)

Small motors efficiency a bit lesser than larger.

If all spindles are not working small motor means some can be switched off.

One motor means drive transmission from one shaft to multiple shafts means losses (pull belt loss, gear box loss etc)

It is very difficult to answer in a general forum. You need a specialist to come over study the total machine configuration and advice (the saving is likely to be less that the consultant fee when you are in a few KW range. In 100KWs or MWs it might compensate)

thanks for your reply. Some specification for the process.

3 ~ 4 spindles running simultaneously in 24 spindle section for suction process.

2x15KW motors = 30KW for 120 Spindles.

We are installing 3x5KW motors = 15KW for 120 Spindles.

No motor can be switched off. Because suction process can be don automatically.

Two Big motors means drive transmission from two shaft pull belt loss, gear box loss.

We are installing Fan Direct to the 3Kw Motors.
