BZ Number.

It's an abbreviation of a German term which appears in the old DIN 54109: Bildgütezahl which means more or less " index of image quality" if I recall the few German knowledge I had.

This reference is the only discussion I could find to discuss this value, in reference to the combined 'Belief value' of a matrix to determine the plausibility of the radiation recorded from an examination of a cargo container being highly nuclear.

In paragraph 47: (italics mine)

"[0047]At step 322, the combined belief value, B_z, for the selected hypothesis may be compared with a first threshold value. In addition, the uncertainty, U, may be compared with a second threshold value. These threshold values may be user configurable. If the combined belief value is greater than or equal to the first threshold and the uncertainty is below a second threshold, the selected hypothesis may then be determined to be plausible."
