PCI-E x1

07/20/2009 11:41 AM

Hi. On my PC, I have 2 PCI-E x1 slots. What actually can go in them, apart from some old, slow graphics cards? Cheers, bondy111

Lots of things can go in them, although I don't know if any of those things would be useful to you or not.

For example, networking cards, sound cards, data acquisition cards, parallel port, serial port, hard drive controller, tv tuner card.

Perhaps many of those things are not useful to you, and many of the things that used to be put into a PCI slot are now available on USB. For some things they are only sold with a PCI interface, but perhaps you have no need for those devices.

I have PCI network and sound card. Can you get PCIe x1 Fans to push air round the case or into the g card? Can you get ones with USB slots on? (I know you can get PCI ones with usbs)
