7.5 KW Motor

what would be the amps drawn for a 7.5 kwh motor. ther are five of these on a machine i have and all start one at a time. also what mcb should i use. regards jeff

The current is marked on the nameplate of the motor.

This type of question has been answered numerous times on CR4. Please see previous threads on the subject or google "motor rating" or similar.

This information should be listed in you local electrical code book. If you are not an electrician or engineer, you need to contact someone who is knowledgeable in this field. Why do you need to start all of the machines at the same time?

Hello, the motors will start one at a time, the machine is a 4 sided planer for wood. so what circuit breaker would i need or would i need a fused switch gear for this. regards jeff

i think approx. each motor drwan 13.5amp, total currnet drawn=67.5 , required breaker rated will be 180 to 200 amp.

Hello, the supply voltage is 415v 50hz 3 phase, will 30amps be ok. regards jeff

Should be fine . . . Motor current should be between 10 and 15 Amps.
