Industrial Surplus Web Sites

07/20/2009 6:47 PM

We need a MIYAT RF Transmission Piece. There isn't one on Ebay.

We're gonna check with the local National Laboratory surplus yard, but it's iffy.

We need a MIYAT due to it's specific proprietary geometry.

Sparks Industrial Services has a a significant line of business in the manufacture of Particle Accelerators, for which we need this part to modify.

While the part is the immediate need, a list of other auction or surplus sites would help us out as well. Thanks.

What competition is there to Globalspec?

Interesting question.

I don't think of Global Spec as "Surplus".

I think of globalspec as a good place to start, It provides many options from many different vendors for many different things, all in one place. Surplus or not depends upon the vendors. But I'm sure there are many other ways to get to where you want to be.

Much thanks to you gurus!

I tried Globalspec but did not find what I needed. A new one was ordered.

AND I misspelled 'Miyat.' It's 'MIAT.'

The piece needed is a somewhat conical copper core with a flange on either end.

I HAD thought we'd made the piece, and was surpised they come from MIAT.

I had also hoped to find the surplus yard on the web because our best one in the area, The Black Hole, in Los Alamos, may be closed soon due to the death of Ed Grothus, the owner. Perhaps, there will soon be an online version, as there appears to be a gap on the web.

Thanks so much again!!! You ARE appreciated!
