Minimum Metal Temperature

07/21/2009 3:25 AM

Hi…

Is any suitable software can perform with minimum metal temperature simulation for optimizing the equipment process? Is it possible to do manual calculate based on the liquid temperature from depressurized (blow down) and will following with heat transfer calculation which consider the ambient temperature?

Regards,

Ynnor

Please describe the process before selecting materials of containment! What are the temperatures, pressures, and fluids present?

Yes, a lot f softwares can do simulate heat transfer. Ansys has a huge module for it, ans is the engine for several other software packages. Virtually any FEA software has a heat transfer module in it, include non-linear calculations. Simulations including ambient temperature are just a matter of altering the system contour conditions and freedom degrees. Yes, it is possible to calculate manually heat transfer and solidification of metals. It is accomplished by calculating the minimum radius of atoms coalescence based on material and energy equilibrium in the desired temperature. But it's quite complicated to post in this blog, I'd suggest you to consult a good solidification book.

BTW, you could be surprised that some equilibrium could be obtained with liquid metals below their solidification temperature!

Hello Ynnor,

Any figures you get from whatever computer program will effect the decisions you make, so be certain you are using the right and correct program, in the right and correct way!!!!

You should explain in more detail what you want to do or, what the process is, before choosing any building style. Keep in touch

so many softwares are available to resolve this problem ex.autofea, lisa these are the free analysing softwares available in the websites i think except this, ansys is good for this type of problem to solve this
