Just make sure the clapper in the check valve doesn't foul any part of the gate valve when the clapper is in the open position.

On a conventional swing check the clapper does not protude from its body so there is no problem there.

Both valves must be well supported or pipe strain will cause the gate valve to leak.

It is not good practice as vibration from the swing check will also cause the g v seats to wear and leak.

May also make any maint. awkward.

Very unusual to see 2 valves mounted together like this on site.

Here again we have a person ("Guest") who is not willing to share his or her name, background or experience and is only right on a small part of their comments.

On a conventional swing check the clapper does not protrude from its body so there is no problem there.

This is a correct statement.

Both valves must be well supported or pipe strain will cause the gate valve to leak.

The part about supporting both valves is correct but tends to only apply to very large valves.

It is not good practice as vibration from the swing check will also cause the g v seats to wear and leak.

I do not know of any document study that supports this statement.

May also make any maint. awkward.

This is not a true statement.

This is also not a true statement.
