Mica Sheets

07/28/2009 9:04 AM

I am in the process of trying to source Mica sheets cut to size. .195" (50MM) thick and cut to 14.75" x 20.75".

Anyone know of a manufacturer of mica products such as this?

There's a factor of 10 adrift somewhere:

  • 50mm = 1.97"
  • 0.195" = 4.95mm.

Which is it?

No, it is not very thin for mica, but on the CONTRARY is is EXTREMELY THICK for MICA. Could you please explain the application / end use. Please advise size that is the length & width or alternatively the diameter. If it is in the long form what kinds of ends do you want - rectangular or half round [full - radiussed / elliptical / obround] Best Regards Rasesh Vakil DURA HART GLASS & MICA WERKE 321, "PIONEER" INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, SUBHASH ROAD, JOGESHWARI [EAST], MUMBAI : 400060. Once again I must apologize;

I was hasty in my initial posting, on size. The thickness is (.0195") or (.50mm) The material is a flat sheet that we use as a barrier between an active electrical heating element. It is 20.75" wide and 14.75" tall. We use this heater as a personal use heater usually put under a desk while working. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for the replies and help

You would then need a heating element in between 2 pieces of Mica and joined together.
