There are many types of cleaner for evaporators/condensers of the finned tube type.Virginia KMP manufacture the lot,foaming/acidic/non-acidic etc.

I agree with the first posted answer. The type of cleaner (or degreaser) depends on the ambient conditions of the coil, the area it serves and its dirty condition. For ex. a coil in a commercial kitchen (with plenty of ventilation) may be grease clogged (although you don't always see it). A good cleaner would be an acid based, non-foaming type, w/ a biodegradeable soap. Nu-Calgon is a manufacturer I recommend.
