Yep, agree with tcinc, Spybot is best and its free.

If you're using just one computer, I"d suggest connecting a router between your internet source and your computer. Routers also have a firewall of their own and that will help.

Kaspersky is good and so is AVG.

Spybot is another good one.

Don't be afraid to spend a little money for the license.

Be aware that they are flooding the internet with more trojans then what any antispy program can keep up with.

I'm sorry to say that the AVG i have downloaded is giving me a lot of problem like it has a pass word where i cant down load another anti virus. Thanks.

Sometimes it's the order that you should install them.

I have Kaspersky and Norton on mine. Norton wouldn't install while Kaspersky was already installed, so I had to uninstall Kaspersky then install Norton. After Norton was installed I was able to install Kaspersky again.

Also Patrick, another defense against attacks is to set up a server with a Linux operating system.

Linux is a litter harder to run because it's LUI however the majority of your attacks are windows based so the Linux server can filter them out.

  1. AVG
  2. COMODO
  3. AVAST

I've used all three of these and like AVG the best.

I've used Lavasoft's AdAware for several years already, and it's served me well, being able to uncover spyware that could not be discovered by others, AVG included (I was a long-time AVG user, too). I've used both AVG and AdAware together in one machine, and they work well together. both also have FREE versions.

There are a few anti-spyware programs that don't require updates to perform. They function differently in that they monitor files and programs and ascertain the manner which the files and program's run. If the process is of the type a spyware or virus they are shutdown.

SpywareBlaster is a good example of this type free - anti-spyware anti-malware program.
