08/05/2009 12:12 AM

Hello everybody, I am a Process Engineer in a fertilizer plant in Indonesia. I have a Screen for separate the fertilizer granuls sizes into onsize and offsize. The case is, now my production capacity is higher than design capacity,so Screen can not handle all product. Here are some possibilities:

  • Grind the oversize material smaller before it arrives on the screen
  • Increase the area of the screen.

Thanks alot Mr.PWSlack Now, my plant produce 100 MT/h fertilizer (The design is 60 MT/h), so i use bypass to transfer 50% product to next device and use screen for 50% product too. The effect is the undersize through with the product together.

It sounds as though the problem has been resolved, then. Well done.

Mr.Iwan,

U said that, u r production capacity is incresed more than 40%. we are having some other options to increase the production through the screens.

Hope u may be in the plant of complex fertilizer or Urea.

So first plz find the design angle of u r screen. this is one of the important parameter to increase the load. where this is totally depends on bed hight of the material.

If u need further details of how to improve the loading of screens plz scrap me out.

Mr. Iwan,

Am also process Engineer in fertilizer unit.

If u suppose increase the angle of screen means, the residential time for the material will get reduce. To meet over this residential time less, u can improve the vibration in the screen.

This will increase Ur capacity.

but this will support in some extent.
