Nitrous Oxide and Motorcycle Engines

how boosters in bike really works..

how does NO2 give such a healthy thrust to a bike..? !

Does it mix wid petrol while combustion takes place or it is being directly added in exhaust line..?

confused..

It, "mix wid petrol while combustion takes place". The Oxygen boosts the power generated by the piston.

Think about it, adding it to the exhaust would be silly.

Just thought NOS will give thrust only rather than giving power to the crank.....!!

Awesome article sir, but enable to understand few of the concepts..(in bold)

"Nitrous oxide is stored as a compressed liquid; the evaporation and expansion of liquid nitrous oxide in the intake manifold causes a large drop in intake charge temperature, resulting in a denser charge, further allowing more air/fuel mixture to enter the cylinder."

"Nitrous oxide is sometimes injected into (or prior to) the intake manifold, whereas other systems directly inject right before the cylinder (direct port injection) to increase power."

The nitrogen in the nitrous is inert, but the two oxygen molecules of the NO2 will give you the power boost providing there is enough fuel to combine with them. It is basically the same as any other power-adder like a turbo or supercharger, where the goal is to cram more oxygen in to the combustion chamber, then add more fuel for more power.
