Dispensing System for Crosslinker Coating

08/07/2009 8:56 AM

Hi

I am looking for a method to safely dispense polyfunctional aziridine crosslinker in measered amounts directly into container containing coating used in printing press coating system. We usually mix 15 gallons of coating at a time requiring 1%-2% polyfunctional aziridine crosslinker to be added. The amount typically is around .5 - 1 liter. Does anyone know of a dispensing system that can handle this material and dispense measured amounts in the quantity range mentioned above?

Thanks
Kurt

Typical properties

Type: Polyfunctional aziridine crosslinker
Appearance: Clear yellowish liquid
Total solids (w/w %): >99
Viscosity Brookfield (25C): 200mPa. S
PH (25C): 8-9
Density (20C): 1.08kg/l

The use of dosing pumps that are used in water treatment together with static mixing equipment springs immediately to mind.

I would use a peristaltic pump for that application. The range listed (.5 - 1 liter),is easily done. I work in the water and wastewater industry currently, and these pumps do a very good job with bleach dosing. The tubing used comes in a variety of sizes, and materials to match your process fluid.
