Thanks lynlynch. I try myself to keep in mind who pays for this Forum.

I really didn't end up here on CR4 because I was looking for friends, though I've made some I compare to what others might get out of SW radio.

I am upset about how though they mark Sharpies as Permanent, even on archival paper, exposed to a bit of Sun, they aren't at all.

Mostly anything organic is permanent only if you put it in a very dark place, don't let it get wet, and wrote on parchment, from what I can tell. From what I can tell good ink, is hard to find, if not use, and I may have a good case for suing Sharpie.

Hey,

Know what you mean. Some tagger hit a gray electrical cabinet where I work with a sharpie or some type of marker. It faced west in central AZ sun and a few weeks later it was gone.

Ink needs some thickness to be permanent.

I assume that you are wanting to print directly to fruits or vegetables. We used to carry a product that was made from beets but may be best suited in food coloring applications. You might consider a pine derivative such as pine tar. It is very dark and is used in soaps, linaments and horse hoof treatments. You could go to our company website www.fineessentialoils.com and request information for your application and it will get specific attention based on your application.

If you want to mark fruits or vegtables you can laser them (Co2) frequency gives a great mark and of course the mark is edible

If you go to shops supplying bakery industry raw materials, essences, flavours etc surely you will find food grade dye inks. From the labels you can make out its technical suitability.Try at your city.

I'm sure the FDA could supply you with that information.
