what is the thumb rule of construction may i know the use of bricks,cement,iron, etc for covering 1square meter area

The number of bricks to be used to cover 1m2 depends upon how high the stack is. The same is true of the other materials. So the question needs re-phrasing before a sensible answer can be given to it.

There's none. Everything will depend on your local code of practice and the architect's and engineer's design.

Number of bricks = 1 square meter / area of one face of the brick in square meter

DEAR SPSSAWHNEY, these can be calculated in cubic meter and not in sq. meter
