What galaxy/planet/world/hemisphere/continent/country/state/county/camp are you talking about??????

"where should we put the wall and how much thick is it?"

I have some suggestions where you should put the wall. The thickness should be about the same as yours, very.

Yes as others have indicated a containment basin capable of the entire tank capacity, a 12" poured concrete or block wall earth bermed is an average precautionary rule.

hello mostafafealkholy:

Many codes require that the tank be completly surrounded (in concrete) of a size suitable to contain all of the fuel, should the tank ruptue of develope a leak. If the tank is subjected to direct sunlight shading the tank wouldn't hurt even though the tank is vented---Your local codes would dictate distances required between the tank and other dwellings &/or people !

The wall needs to be taller the closer it is to the exploding 5,000 gallon Truck you have parked temporarily to gravity feed the needs of your Army Camp.

The only real use for the wall when the Tanker is hit, is to direct the force and fire upwards.

Permanent fuel farms bury the tanks.

This does require electricity and pumps and a valve system.

I suggest you put a tank up and fill it and then blow it up to actually perfectly determine where to put your "camp" fence, and how thick you make it.

Normally one does want to be laying on their belly at least 35 yards from major explosions, in my experience.

And this guys talking about 26 feet, never mind yards. I hope it's not a sleep away camp!

In the US we follow the NFPA, state, and federal regulations depending on type, size and fire rating of the tank will greatly affect the distance you can setup a tank from buildings and property lines.

When I design our sites I usually deal with small tanks 1000 gal to 3000 gal. They are usually kept at a 100 ft from any structure or property lines ~30 meters. Plus make sure you have at least a 2 hr to 3 hr fire rating for the tank, check with the manufacturer for it.

Yes, this is a dumb question. But for a few of you, does it make you feel smarter to fire back such sarcastic and rude answers?
