Peak Combustion Temperature

Peak Combustion Temperatures?

If we completely burn a unit of gas of your choosing, what is the approximate peak temperature in each of these two circumstances,

1) at the moment the combustion products reach their maximum volume after expanding freely against the atmosphere?

2) and immediately after combustion, if the combustion products are confined and not allowed to expand?

In oxygen? In air? Stoichiometric ratios or excess or deficiency of air and how much? In what sort of container? Is it insulated? Cooled?

With an ambient air temperature of 35 deg-C. I am burning a gram of gasoline with a sufficient amount of air at sea level under two conditions.

First Condition: The combustion gases are allowed to expand until that expansion reaches its maximum volume. I need to know the temperature just as the gases reach their maximum volume, and what that maximum volume is. I am assuming that this expansion is taking place so rapidly that a negligible amount of heat is lost up to that point.

Second condition: The combustion takes place in a container that is large enough to contain sufficient air and gasoline without pressurization. The combustion products will not be allowed to expand. I need to know what the volume of the container must be. I also need to know what the peak temperature is right after combustion, assuming that negligible heat has left the container.

I get the idea that the question asked is rather too simple. The variables aren't specific enough. The altitude and atmosphere of each combustion point matter as well as the container in which the test is happening. I would recommend a more specific scenario. not that I could answer it I am just a mechanical tech writer. I only know how to ask questions and write the answer down in a technically accurate pre-university manner. Good luck
