Hmmm did you Google "vibration analysis and balancing of turbine rotor"? I did and just the first page of hits was enough to keep a person busy learning for several hours....

Also, what kind of turbine? Gas, wind, steam? Might Google the specific type of turbine as in "vibration analysis and balancing of steam turbine rotor."

The vibration analysis, not the balancing is a full fledged subject. In fact we have a couple of PhDs in manufacturing area and a dozen or so in R&D who exclusively attend to this aspect.

Best way (and that was mentioned in an earlier post to) - leave the specialist part to specialists. There are quite a few who will do the job, rather than trying yourself, that may do more harm than good.

And for the balancing, based on the speed there are standards that will give you limits of the dynamic and static unbalances.

But then it all depends on. Find the OEM recommendations (BTW at our place they are vacuum balanced in the last step- do for generators, but then again, it all depends on size, rating and other parameters)
