The volume of dust to be collected would be a useful number to have, as would the servicing frequency for the collected dust, the voltage and frequency of the supply, etc.

Additional information needed also includes

- How fine the dust particles are? Is the dust in a form of very sharp splinters requiring a special storage system, does it react with the atmosphere to form a sticky that cold clog dust extraction equipment, etc

- What is/are the material(s) you are grinding is (is it environmentally hazardous, potentially explosive requiring hazardous-area rating considerations, conductive, etc)?

- Does the dust require special storage and/or disposal due to local environmental regulations?

- Does the collector need to be portable? Is this for a fixed machine or someone holding a hand-tool? Is the person at a fixed station area or is he/she moving around while grinding?

- How good does the extraction system need to be? Are you after a basic level of extraction to minimise mess (such as woodworking), are you extracting the dust to also protect workers (dust is a eye/nose/throat irritant), do you need an extraction system good enough to collect all the dust due to serious safety issues with the dust (dust is harmful to personnel/environment/explosive/toxic, etc)? etc.

As you can see much more information is needed. Please provide what you can, or at the very least a detailed explanation on exactly what you are doing/wanting to do.

the material is cast iron. grinding is done to final the product. the operators are not moving. . but SPM level is higher than recommend because of there is no dust collector. recommend is 0.05mg/m3 and exists level is 1.6 mg/m3. this area is not close. its an open place. so i fabricate a grinding booth for each operator. there are four operators doing it.

but a dust extractor is need to lower the dust level. i like to know how we select a dust extractor or the flow rate to reduce the SPM leve from 1.6 to 0.05. please tell me the procedure to calculate the suitable flowrate for the exhaust system.

For an application like this I would advise talking with a local air/dust extraction sales company. Tell them your needs and they should be able to offer you the parts for a suitable extraction fan system or supply you a complete solution.

Forgot to mention also, are you wanting to extract and vent the dust outside or do you need to vent it to a storage container (eg- will a wall-mounted extractor fan do or do you need a device like a vacuum cleaner)?
