You can't use DC power cables in an AC application, but you can use AC power cables in a DC application. DC current only flows one way, so AC current would get trapped in a DC power cable, and if left unchecked, the cable would eventually explode from all the accumulated AC power that has no place to go.

You can understand this more clearly by looking at an AC power cord and DC power cord. The AC power cord has only one connector with multiple pins.

DC power cord has one pin per conductor. That's so the power can always get out.

Hope this helps!

That is so believable, I'm not going to try to explain any further!

Very scientifically stated.

Thanks that you didn't go into electrons and holes.

But then which of the pins are meant for the electron and which one for hole?
