AI Bits and AO Bits

Why PLC AI (Analogue Input) signals comes in low BITs input. i.e. 8 X 12 BIT and

PLC AO (Analogue Output) signals goes in high BITs output. i.e. 4 X 16 BIT

I 've seen in A-B & Siemens PLCs too. But especially SIEMENS S7 300 PLCs
