Oh dear......... it depends on what aspect of quality you want to check.....

UV colour resistance..

Adhesive performance.. longevity, storage life, etc... etc...

Weather resistance... waterproof etc... etc...

stretchability .... tearability, vandel resistance....

Go on give us a clue??

John.

"stickybacks" are an issue. I don't push the issue anymore. I just make sure that the contractor leaves extra slack so that we can put stand offs/straps during regular maintenance. Every thing that I can do to make the General more profitable. But if there are dependable adhesive standoffs, I would like to know the vendor. Thank you.

If you want to check the quality of adhesive in self-adhesive sticker labels, following is the normal procedure;

Measure the dimension of the label (length and width) and Weigh the sticker label with the support paper. say it is "a" gm. Remove support paper and weigh it separately, say it is "b" gm. Now a -b = x gm will be your net weight of sticker label with adhesive. Dip sticker label in sufficient qty. of Xylene and reomve adhesive. Once adhesive is remove, dry it in oven at 40-50°C for 5-10 minutes. Then weigh the label. Say it "y" gm. Obtain net weight of adhesive ("z" gm)removed by subtracting x from Y. Then claculate % of adhesive using following formula:

"z" gm x 10,000/Dimension (length x width) in cm.

This will give you gsm of adhesive in that particular sticker label.

If you want to see practical test of sticking, then you have to affix the label on the desired container and should keep the container at the actual conditions (like temp., light, humidity, etc.) and shall observe the same at interval of 24 or 48 hrs. as per your requirement.

I hope this is in line of your query.

If MMM can't advise you, nobody can. I have used their products for years on passenger liners in e the 80's. Interior decorating became childs play. They must have done more R&D on this than any other company. Good luck.
