Dear All,

We are having Orbital welding machine Make ORBIMATIC Type TP1000 with open and closed weld head,in this machine, There is Suckback (Root Depression/Depression on the inner surface of pipe) problem in each and every sizes of pipe welding while our parameters setting with 0.8mm wire as under. In this machine machine welding head is moving part where pipe is on static position and this problem occur at all around but in overhead it is more.In this machine there is no AVC system (automatic voltage control) system.there is mechanical system which is maintaining the arc gap. This is totally GTAW process with filler material.

S.No. Parameter Value
High Pulse Low Pulse
1 Volt 40 20
2 Current 99 to 117 58 to 66
3 Wire speed 15 inch/min 9 inch/min.
4 Pulse Speed 3 inch/min. 3 inch/min.
5 Time 0.5 Sec 0.5 Sec

please suggest us how to prevent suckback problem,

There is any possibility to prevent this problem if we use 1.2mm wire, or not.

Anil
